Do you know the impact talking therapy has on our nervous system?
Talking therapy focuses on the conscious mind but all our memories and emotions are stored in the subconscious mind so here is what happens with talking therapy:
When we talk about a problem depending on the emotional state you are in, and when the memory is stored in a negative way i.e. you have negative emotions attached to that memory what actually happens is that there is a thing called Myelin.
Now Myelin is a protective covering that surrounds and insulates the neurological connections between nerve cells in your brain and the nervous system. It's like the coating on an electrical wire that helps the signal travel faster and more efficiently.
Think of myelin as a highway for your brain's messages. Without it, the signals would be slower and less efficient, like a road full of potholes and traffic jams. Myelin helps the messages move smoothly and quickly, allowing your brain to send and receive information more effectively.
So the more times we talk about and relive our traumatic event and experiences it is actually building the myelin around the neurological connections and it is making the negative emotions stronger so you feel it more deeper.
This is why when i work with my clients i use a set of tools, techniques and processes to access your subconscious mind to release negative emotions and limiting beliefs out of your subconscious mind and rewire your nervous system
No amount of talking, dancing or journaling will get you these results, you have to do the work with the subconscious mind to release the negative emotions and limiting beliefs first in order to create the change you are wanting.
Life is a journey full of ups and downs, twists and turns, and unexpected detours.
Along the way, we experience seasons of change, both in the world around us and within ourselves. Sometimes these changes can be painful and challenging, but they also offer us an opportunity to heal and grow.
